ASSOCHAM organises discussion e-waste management on July 16
Growth of ICT sector in the country has increased the usage of the electronic equipment exponentially. With this continuous growth India has been witnessing a faster e-waste generation in recent times, which is growing at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of about 30 per cent in the country.
Only 20 per cent of the global e-waste is currently recycled. This indicates the potential available to the country to harness.
eWaste is not considered hazardous if it is transported, recycled and stocked using scientific methods, but currently, ewaste collection, transportation, processing, and recycling is dominated by the informal sector. Often, all the materials and value that could be potentially recovered is not achieved.
In addition, there are serious issues regarding leakages of toxins into the environment and workers’ safety and health. This provides an opportunity for experts and technology innovators to play a key role by bringing innovative solutions in addressing the concerns and thereby opening avenues for new businesses.
Against this backdrop, ASSOCHAM proposes to organize a virtual Roundtable Discussion on e-Waste Management on Friday 16 July, 2021 from 10:00 am – 12:45 pm.
The Round table discussion will bring together all stakeholders under one platform to discuss the industry roadmap on the latest recycling technologies, materials-recovery solutions, circular electronics innovations, sustainable materials, non-toxic substitutes, and end-of-life strategies for electronic waste and explore appropriate solutions and business opportunities in this sector.
On behalf of ASSOCHAM, we cordially invite you to attend this timely and meaningful Discussion at 10:00 am. Please register on the below link to receive joining link.
